Is anyone paying attention to the activity of the Socialist Government in Cyprus. You should be... Expropriation of up to 10% of bank accounts. I guess they haven't run out of other peoples money yet...

Perhaps the recent change in the political ideology in the U.S. gives the socialist democrats reason to be optimistic about funding the 17 Trillion dollar deficit when they decide it needs to be addressed...

What is most interesting about what is going on in Cyprus is that much of that money was offshored by wealthy Russians trying to avoid the Russian taxing authority.... Something tells me this is going to get interesting as the TV shows and books that I watch and read tend to lead me to believe that wealthy Russians react with some degree of aggression when people arbitrarily take what belongs to them... LOL.

Cypriot government officials voted against the plan that would have seen all bank accounts in the country gleaned by expropriation as much as 10%. In total, 36 voted against the plan, with 19 abstaining.
An extremely disturbing discovery here was the media's description of the event as a "failed bank tax" describing the governments stance to secure funding...
