This image (also my avatar) was recently published in a photograhy blog along with other peoples images of frogs.

It was also in the National Geographic online magazine's "Daily Dozen" portion of the "Your Shot" section of the online magazine. Didn't make it to the print edition though. You have to go to the 4th week of October of 2007 to see the images as one can't link directly to it... (

I had found this frog on my day job at the time. Thought it was dead as it was all dried up. On a hunch, I put it in a small container with a small amount of water & Viola!, it came back to life. I took it home & let it go out on a Magnolia tree in my backyard...
Shot this image with a Nikon D70s, Lester Dine 105mm F2.8 macro lens, 1/100 SS, ISO 200, F stop not noted. & used a Nikon SB 600 for fill light @ 1/4 power
Don't know about "water & violia". But I have witnessed a littl drop of water and bourbon but life back into dryed up old gents and ladies.
Great shot, and lovely back story. Enjoyed them both.
I have admired your avatar and this photo deserves the attention it is getting.
Thanks for both of your comments!
Scott - I love this frog!
