This little girl wondered into our yard last night. Had to call the koala rescue people to shift her to safer ground.

This may sound ignorant, and well, it is....why do they need to be rescued? Is it like a black bear here, that is totally out of it's element and would be in more danger from civilization, etc?

A specialist for rescuing koalas from yards...totally amazing! The photos are sensational! I just finished looking at an opossum photo from USA - this international forum delights me every single day!

Tracy, there are many reasons for the need to be rescued.
1) maybe they have been injured by dogs, or bushfires.
This particular one, could have been chased out of its environment by a dog, and scampered up this tree in my yard.
There were no other trees nearby, so it could well have been run over while it was trying to get back home. The rescue people will check it over health wise the release in the nearest suitable environment. Ernie

Thank you for your response and thank you for calling in the rescue team. You are a caring person. And your photo captures are well done, too.
