I still detect a loss of overall contrast, especially in image #3.

Flare associated with tubes, it can really kill a good shot. Nice little Jumper

I concur, you can do some pp work that will mitigate it to some extent, but it will never be as good had the flare not been there to begin with...

The first thing that I did was adjust the color levels adjusting each RGB channel separately, it takes a little time to get used to but it is very effective in bringing both color strength and brightness to the pic, then after adjusting the levels I made a slight adjustment to the contrast, too large of a contrast adjustment created alot of noise in that pic so I made a smaller adjustment than I wanted to.

thanks,i tried the rgb befor but i usually make it worse.
