Why are my RAW photos purple

When I take my photos from a T4i I do Raw and Jpeg. When the RAW are displayed they at first come up normal, but within a split second or two there is a purple film that slides down over them. I can use Canon pp program to change them but if using pisca or others, this purple film is there. I know there is something I am missing because I have seen many people on this sight say they use pisca and others to do original pp then if needing more go to PSE 10/11. Why this purple and what is the method for doing things in pisca? Thank you,

You need to update your other than Canon software to work with the new sensor in the T4i. Check for updates to Adobe raw.

Spend the money for Elements 11 and then make sure you have the latest RAW converter. Download the 30 day trial first to make sure you like the program. With Elements 11 you will be a happier person!

Also, make sure your white balance in camera setting is set to auto... or set to the situation in which you are filming.

In photoshop cs4 at least, in the camera raw part of the program there is a white balance eyedropper picker. You can hit the medium to white areas and the purple should go away. I have Sony Alpha 100 and mine is green not purple.
Also in the settings of your camera you should have a way to control your white balance for different needs and scenes. Refer back to your manuel for the camera and look up white balance.
Happy hunting.

I thank you for all the help and advice, but the problem isn't with the pictures, or the white balance. As it loads the picture is fine, but a split second after the action; a film of purple rolls down the picture and covers the whole picture, It's a 50% layer thing, as if to say can't see me till you convert me. But if I bring up the picture in Canon's pp the picture doesn't do this. It is similar to the jpeg version. And the jepg versions are usually very good, and with minimal adjustments in PSE10, super pictures.

I didn't have the time to do what Rixpix said, but will follow his suggestion soon as I can.

And again I do thank all of you for help. It is really appreciated to know such a fine bunch of people are around on UHH.

I have the same issue. I am aware it is because my software does not recognise the particular RAW format of the T4i. I have tried installing the latest Adobe RAW converter, yet I still have the same problem with Photoshop2. I don't have the problem with my Canon 5DMII, it loads fine. Trying to work out why. . .
