It was snowing this morning so I took some pictures out the back door. I took one without flash and one with flash to see the effect. I was amazed at the difference. These photos were taken within seconds of each other.

You need to adjust the exposure adding +2 stops to stop it looking gray

BTW I spent 2 years in you country back in the 60s....loved it. I've been watching Midsommer Murders on DVD and love seeing the people, the pubs and the overall scenery again.

Reminds me of my teenage driving days in Ohio. At night with the headlights on, sometimes the snow is coming down so heavily that the reflected light makes it impossible to see where one is going.
Simple solution: turn around and go the other way. Now you can see everything clearly.
Makes it a 25,000 mile trip home, but, at least you'll be able to see the road!
