Abandomed house, my entry.

Taking the advise of Horseart I'm entering my abandomed house.
It's in Central Texas, a little town of Lake Victor. When I lived in Burnet County I had to pass this house each day, so I finally took it's picture.
WOW! Looking at it today it looks so much older than I remember.

When I see an old place like that, I always wonder who owns it. Someone owned it at one time, so what happened? Is anyone paying taxes on it? Who's responsible for it legally?

That is the strangest part of it. I said it's in Lake Victor, but maybe not. It sets back from the main road to the town, probably half a mile. There are no other houses in that quarter of the property. It is across the street from the water silo, so maybe at one time it was for the water manager.
It has no lake anywhere close to it.

Kind of spooky looking but it does have history and makes you wonder what kind of life was there. Very nice!

Now that would look great against a starry night sky

Even better, spend the night inside the house taking pictures through the various windows. Of course, you would have to go there alone so you wouldn't have any distractions. A "dark and stormy night" would be ideal. I'm not volunteering; I'm just offering ideas. :D

I would love to poke around this old house with a metal detector, I bet there would be gobs of relics hiding around it. I punched up the photo to see what it looked like in the day time.

The only time I will be going back up there is to spread my roommates ashes. His Family won't do it.
Anyway next time you are in San Antonio take IH37 north which eventually turns into US 281. When you go thru Burnet look for Co Rd 2340 turn right for about 3 miles. Turn left at the First Baptist Church, it's CO Rd 205 which turns immediately to 206 on a right fork. Pick up the fork. lol
You will come up on the water well on the right and the hanging tree on the left. You will see the Abandoned home right in front of you.. Have fun, I'm not going back.

whiteeagle2173, interesting picture. It makes you stop and wonder what history could be attached to it.

I know, that whole area west of CR206 is vacant. You cross a cattle guard right below the hangin tree. I remember, there is a sign on the cattle guard that says who owns it. I'll try to remember it, good luck with that.
Once a herd of deer, about 25 of em ran across the road.
