Does anyone know of a good and simple free photo editor? I have GIMP and while it seems very powerful, I don't want to spend months learning how to use it. I tried to load Paint.net but it wants me to download a Microsoft service pack 3 and I hate doing that. I just want a basic editor, that maybe has some documentation I can print out.
Thanks

Thanks. I'll try that.

Mrkellyparker just told me about it the other day.. I haven't checked it out yet but he said he used it and it worked well..
I just typed in 'free photo editors' on google and was given quite a few to choose from. But for now I decided to stick with my PSE9. I was hoping to find one that did something additional to my PSE edits.

You can't go wrong with Picasa. It's a wonderfully simple basic program. Even though I use photoshop a lot .. I still have picasa its much easier to straighten photos with and I download all my photos into Picasa from my card reader. They may not stay there long but they all start out there.
also try zoner is really simple
Try Seif.com a British Company. I got the X3 for $0 with a rebate. X4 current edition runs $90. Right now you can download their starter for $0. X3 is last years photo editor and is very powerful exceeding Elements. The give away a lot of their older programs. As they say, you can not do color only colour in English editors. The free editor from description includes:
Straighten photos and crop to common print sizes
Repair old and damaged photos
Remove red eye, smooth skin, whiten teeth and more
Remove unwanted objects from pictures
Adjust levels, curves, brightness, contrast and more
Paint and blend with artistic brushes

OK< OK< I am on my second cup, do not expect me to spell this early in the morning... OUCH,,, it is the simple things in life that screw us up,,, sorry, but the suggestion is still a good one, perhaps,,, But I did spell Colour right, huh
If I apply the program to myself I could improve:
Straighten my photo area up
Repair old car I drive
Remove red eye the morning after
smooth skin that has aged in the Florida Sun.
whiten teeth stained from tea and coffee
Remove unwanted objects from picture like an X wife
Adjust levels in my bank account
curves improved on the nice lady two doors away
adjust my mental brightness early in the morning
contrast my self to those worse off
Paint a up-beat picture of the future
and blend with an artistic photographers
I use IrfanView. Free and reliable. Does basic stuff, batch processing, DPI setting, etc.

You may want to try Picnik...the basic version only allows you to edit five images a day but it is user friendly. Picassa is also a good photo editor.

If you find that program let me know I could probably use to do a few of those things.. lol.. I nominate this for post of the year.. brilliant stuff..
Picasa is free and will probably do more than most shareware.
I too think Picasa is awesome.
I have Gimp and Elements but can't beat Picasa for ease of use.
