Hello To All,

Robbie7 was kind enough to suggest I visit you, which was very kind of him to do so. I am totally self taught and have no photo 'academia' under my belt. I value others opinions and with I grow, in this passion of mine.
Robbie7 suggested I post a particular portrait, which I will, but will also post several others.
Hope to say Hello to all,
EyeArt

Welcome! Very nice first posting. #2 intrigues me the most--although I do like the portrait-- it's just not my area of expertise... Perhaps a little lower angle and with more eye-contact?

Back to #2: When looking at this, my eye is drawn to the bird's eye. This is a fairly natural phenomenon.... Compositionally, I would suggest making that eye, more central to the image-- but not dead-center. I hesitate to mention any "rules of composition"-- but there are planes of interest in all images-- and over time, we have learned that the intersection of lines drawn @ a 1/3 division of the image is more pleasing to the viewer. We don't really know why this is....
Again, lovely images.... sorry if I got a little "bookish".

:)

Hi eye-art and Welcome to the group :-) Your style is very intriguing, I have seen your photography before and have enjoyed it immensely. The portrait for me is evenly lit although I may not have had her looking quite so high in the air, I love the colourful Parrot shot and I do understand that the eye placement is a matter of taste, but for me its fine. The Flower shot is probably one of the best B&W of a flower I have seen on this site. Please continue to submit your photos..regards :-)

What a fabulous first set you have posted. For one who is self taught you have a remarkable eye for detail.

I love the set. I really like #1, how did you do the smoke? It looks like it was added in post. Great set.

EDIT: #3 looks like it might be a bit over exposed.
