I like it surrounded by green. I have given up waiting for them, but when I do see them I take shot after shot hoping one comes out.

I've come to believe in the following procedure -
1) observe from distance for some time.. and concentrate on one fly
2) wait near the bush for a while it will most likely to come to it again and again
3) they spread their wings wider when sun is shining and are more still, so better chances.

try it and let's know.

This was taken with Fuji S5700 (an awesome camera for low light) in manual mode, I've shifted to Nikon D90 now.

I enjoy trying to get pics of butterflies, but they rarely sit still for me. It's always flit flit flit then zoom away!

Caught this one in flight

Its wing is damaged, but it still flies fast!

Thx Sumoka! He was a hard one to catch but this was the best of about half a dozen shots.

I really like this shot, I love the DOF and as I am a sucker for adding quotes or other captioning to a photo I like the space on the shot for that. Very nice picture.

Hmm, now if I was a butterfly which flower would I land on? I tried advertising for a butterfly model but it didn't help.
