I posted some of these earlier in the general photography forum. One of the members of this section suggested I post the photos under "Close Up Photography", so here they are.
There were two snowstorms in quick succession, one on Saturday, March 9. Just as the last of that snow was melting under our March sun, another one came along on Tuesday, March 12 and completely buried the newly emerging blossoms.
I indicated which storm was involved by putting a "Saturday" or a "Tuesday" as a label on each photo.
Saturday photos were taken with a D7000 and a 70-300mm VR lens, aperture preferred. Tuesday photos were taken with a D4 and a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens at f/8, aperture preferred. All photos hand-held.
Today (Thursday) all snow is completely gone and the blossoms are fully open. And very beautiful, I might add.

Hi bdo :) welcome to the Closeup group. This is a delightful set of pictures, I really like the way the little flowers are defying the elements and peaking out of the snow..tfp

Thank you. It is fascinating, and a little mysterious, how they manage to poke up through the snow cover. I could probably come up with a "scientific" explanation, but I's rather just enjoy the mystery of it.
Welcome to the close up group bdo, I like your set.
I also love using a 24 - 70mm lens. Quite a few of us like the freedom of shooting hand held even though we have tripods and monopods.
