I don't do all he says, but I try to see better with each shot.
I agree with John in everything he says in the short article, except, some of my best shots have been ones that I did not think at all, just saw something and took the shot. Not even concerned about SS, Aperture etc, just get the shot. I will say, this does not happen very often but when it does, makes me smile.
I saw a shot this morning on the way to breakfast, and let my belly and the fact it was 20 degrees stop me. The light was perfect and I always have a camera, but let it go. Been thinking about that missed shot ever since. It might not have been that good, but I will never know now.

I attended one of his seminars-even bought one of his prints. He is a a down to earth pragmatist and,of course does beautiful work.
If Ken Rockwell had said this stuff in as strong a way as John Shaw has there'd be a lynch-mob in this thread :)
