I have a sunpak 622 flash. Is there any nway to make it compatible with my Nikon D7000 or D800

Triggers at 8 volts ..a bit too high to risk it for me.
Wein makes a "safe sync" that is supposed to reduce that, but I've never used one.
It won't do ttl anyway.
Nikon products just work so well.
Would make a dandy slave on manual with an optical trigger.

I got the safesync last year. Nice product. I have the Sunpak 555 - nice powerful flash. Couldn't both the 622 and 555 be triggered using a wireless system - so the camera wouldn't have direct contact?
