Will be in Rome for 3 days in late May, so my question is: what ISO, Shutter, etc. to set camera for interior shots in Sistine Chapel, St. Peters etc. knowing that flash is a no-no. Will have a Leica V Lux 2, would like to bring Canon 5DMkII & long glass except for weight, though fairly healthy at 83 yrs.

lets hope the conclave doesn't last 2 1/2 yrs like it did once a long time ago.
I was there in 1975 I hope you have a great trip.
Thanks Kaz. Will be going with a friend (Priest) that was ordained in Rome and has family in area.
Have a wonderful trip. :) When I was there a few years ago, our tour guide told us photos inside the Sistine Chapel were forbidden, for a multitude of reasons. Some people took photos and were escorted out. Perhaps this site will be helpful. :)

Hello CajunLou. Here are a few photos of the inside of the Vatican Museum from a visit to Rome in 2007. My camera was a point and shoot Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ10, 4 MP - no flash was used. The photos were taken in the Automatic mode so specific settings were usedand were
edited to lighten the darkness of the originals. Your camera equipment and lenses are probably way more sophisticated than my old camera so you should be able to take some great pictures. I don't know if this response will help but thought I'd give it a try.
UWDAWG, gee thanks for the info and the pictures, they are great. You get excellent results with your camera, and here everybody is looking for larger and larger MP cameras, and you sure showed what a 4 mp camera can do. I really enjoyed seeing these pictures and only hope and pray that I can do as well as you did.
Glad you enjoyed the photos. I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip to Italy - my wife and I had a great time. There's a lot of great things to photograph - good luck.
