Any idea what could have happend here,, I have a D90 and wanted to 'tether' to a 32in HDTV, so I bought a 5mtr HDMI type c cable from Ebay, hooked it all up, just to see the image I would normally see on the LED that's all I wanted,,, So the image came up on the TV for a split second there was a crackling sound from the TV and the screen went blue on the TV,, I tried again to show the image and again the same happend and the crackling was heard again,,, I took the D90 and the HDMI lead down to my main TV 42in led hd and tried the same operation and the image came up and worked perfectly,, I went back up to the first TV tried it again and the image stayed a split second crackled and the TV died,,No life at all,,checked the fuse its ok,,electricity getting to the TV along the mains lead but it's DEAD,,, any idea what has happend Please..By the way the D90 is ok,,Strange !!! Thank you for any advice,, Jimmy

Does the cable have a loop through a ferrite coil?

Check to ensure there are no bent pins. Also see:

have you used that input of the TV before? May be a bad input on the TV. Try a DVD player pluged into the same input.

Another you get what you pay for. Hope the TV repair didn't set you back too much.
