I know he's a woodpecker cause I saw him in lots of cartoons when I was nothing but a child. But I'm sure he has a proper name, too. Anyone? Anyone? Hope he doesn't kill that knarly oak.

This also appears to be a female. The male has a red stripe on it's cheek, where your shot the stripe seems to be black.
