Reviewing composition techniques, I recalled two pics I took a while back.

I am interested in your comments (Good & bad)

Could not find point of focus in first shot.
Second shot is better; pin-rail and belaying pin add nice background touch, but are soft enough to not detract from lines (ropes).

Thank you, Mogul. Looking back, I should have shot it at a smaller aperture (W/ Higher ISO and slower shutter) to get a larger DoF.

Live & Learn... Thanks again!!

The first shot has no in focus areas. Can you reshoot? Both shots have great composition. I love your unique way of looking at things.

Eveline,

I wish that I could reshoot. The boats are gone. But I will make sure to have a defined plane of focus and smaller aperture next time the opportunity arises.

Thank you for your feedback!

[quote=jttrey3] I am not real fond of blurry objects in pictures. I do like the subject of boat equipment and blue sky. The composition is fine. David

Nicely done, NorthsideJoe.

I missed the contest. In my pice, I was playing on the term "Lines" both in photography and in sailing.

I will look through the submissions.
