I get email occasionally from Carolyn Porco at Nasa, with links to photos taken a million miles away, at Saturn. It's hard to believe that people on earth can control a spacecraft so far from earth. It's even harder to believe that this machine can take such clear pictures and send them back to earth.

I can't begin to imagine thetechnology that goes into a project like that. At one time, they released a separate craft that was carried to Saturn, and that descended through the atmosphere transmitting data until it was crushed.
