Today I tried and got my "frozen" water drop for the first time. The second thing I tried was taking a long exposure and spinning a whisk with steel wool on fire.
what fun long exposures can be, especially when you capture something stunning like you have. well done, and a lovely freeze of action on the water drop
Those are great photos! I really love the Frozen drop picture. Fantastic still life. Thanks for sharing them with us. Cheers.

Yes, but where I was there was no chance of setting anything on fire, the ground was still very wet from the snow the day before.

I had the same issue gym. I was told to use the flash when doing it and wa la it worked. The flash synchronizes with the shutter speed I guess.

The steel wool is definitely overdone by everyone "I don't get it" IHMO
I automatically switch off with these images as it is an unnatural process...Technically it is a hard process to capture correctly .....Why??
Light trails in a city I get... this I dont
The pipe on the other hand is a classic... absolutely love it....

Thank you JoboX for the complement on the water pipe....And I think (at least for me) why everyone wants to try the steel wool shot is because it's fun and to see if they can.
It's not done to hang on the wall or to sell or to say look what a masterpiece I created, it's just fun. Sometimes it's OK to have a bit of fun weather in it's in life or it's in photography. There are no rules   and that's the fun in it.

My other pet hate the water droplet ....water droplet with colour... strawberry droplet or the latest craze ... Rubics cube.... Now a picture of a rubics cube smashing against a wall after 3 weeks of trying to do it would definitely be on my fave list
