Florida otter's lunch

This otter caught a large bass and ate the good parts leaving the rest for the birds. It immediately caught another within two minutes. It is amazing how efficient they are. No wounder they have time to play. BTW they may look cute and cuddly but I sure would've consider taking that fish from him.

Fascinating indeed. I was aware they were around and had been on the "hunt". Of course it happens when you don't expect. Thanks to digital lots of photos are possible.

I remember sitting in a restaurant (outside seating) on the marsh on St Simons Island (GA) a family of otters, 2 adults and 2 offsping, swim by calling to the other otters in the marsh. It was a chorus of otters. Even the restaurant staff quit working and ran out to watch them. It was a magical moment that could not be captured except in our minds and hearts. I did not have my camera with me and do not reget that. Thank you for the image that brought back the memory.

Very nice. :thumbup: The first time I ever saw one in the wild was in Florida when I was dropping my daughter off to work at Disney World.
We were staying in the Holiday Inn which had a big pond in front and there were 3 of them fighting over someone's rubber flip flop. I kept sitting there on the other side of the pond until one of them spotted me and moved in for a closer look. Needless to say I decided to leave... Yeah they are cute but they have big teeth.
