I probably have too many tripods already, and was going to finally bite the bullet and get what I should have bought in the first place - a Gitzo tripod. But, then I heard that Gitzo is no longer made in France and is now made in Italy and doesn't have the same quality as it used to.
I just recently came across Feisol tripods. Looks like they're made in the USA with the old-school, built-to-last quality and materials. But, they are expensive. Does anyone have any experience with Feisol tripods (which models, comparison with Gitzos, etc.)?
Thanks for the link. I have googled reviews on Feisol. I hadn't seen this review. Seems like Feisol is a Taiwanese company; not a US one. To their credit, they are not "copy" manufacturers unlike most Chinese photographic-product companies (and, please, I apologize if anyone takes my comment as an international gaffe in intimating that this Taiwanese manufacturer is a "Chinese" company). Instead, Feisol appears to be an innovative tripod company with expensive, but not outlandish Gitzo prices.
But, my question is whether any UHHers have personal experience with these tripods?

I already have a Giottos tripod (MTL 9360) with a Kirk ballhead. It's one of my favorites, but heavy (it's not carbon fiber).
I bought one of their carbon fibre tripods two years ago as I was trying to cut down on weight. It's a nice piece of equipment, well engineered and has performed flawlessly. Mine is a CT-3301 and weighs in at two and a half pounds, it arrived well packed, undamaged and with a carry bag. You get fast service and a fair price. You certainly won't be disappointed with a Feisol. (IHMO)

I bought a 3371 over two years ago and love it, customer service is excellent ! I bought the 3371 because I am a little over six feet tall and wanted a tripod I could use without hunching over. It is also capable of handling a heavy load with no sway, no center column to flex, all leg. I think I bought my last tripod!

I bought a Feisol several years ago when I was shooting medium format. I am still using it and have never had a problem. I have one of the older ball heads and am thinking or replacing it with one of their newer ones.
I have had a Feisol CT-3472 for over a year, I use it with a Wimberly head for my Sony a77 with a Sigma 500mm f4.5 lens. I love the tripod, it has given me absolutely no problems and is a very stable platform for a long lens. I also have a Feisol CB-50DC carbon fiber ballhead and the quality is first class. I too love the Gitzos but I just couldn't bring myself to pay twice what I paid for the Feisol. I don't think you can go wrong with Feisol.

Agree with these comments. I have the CT-3372 tripod and with the cost saving (vs. Gitzo price) applied it to Really Right Stuff ballhead BH-55LR. I love this set up. The tripod is lightweight (carbon) yet very sturdy. Their customer service is excellent.
Google INDURO TRIPODS, carbon fiber, US made.

I think you'll find that they are made in China, not the US.

Or is this too much
I have this tripod, but the brand is Triopo, I paid somewhere like 60.00 for the tripod and ball head. I am sure it is a China knockoff.
