Yes Iv'e been trying to get these smaller birds for some time...a bit of a challenge to say the least.

A few weeks ago I got this shot while I was at the park marsh area across town. I watched a small flock...maybe 10 birds...now residents....feeding in this field. I just watched their behavior and waited. This time I mounted my camera on a mono pod with a ball head...seems to work a little better with that 500mm F8 lens...also bright sunny day light helps.
