A Little More Australian Fauna

Took these this afternoon wandering around my favourite wildlife park at Currumbin. The beauty of the place is that many of the animals have been rescued from injury in the wild. A lot of the enclosures have no netting or wire between you and the animals which makes life a lot easier to take pics. If you ever make it to South east Queensland I would always suggest this as a must see. So I am being very Australian and posting a kangaroo having a sleep in the afternoon sun, an emu checking me out while it was having a drink, a koala doing what koalas do which is not very much at all and then very slowly. And finally a freshwater crocodile. The croc is a mild 3 exposure HDR.

Hope you enjoy them.

Peter

Thanks, I never tire of taking pics of the amazing wildlife I am lucky enough to have around me, and I do know how lucky I am.

Love your portraits of your wildlife. Can only see these in zoos here and I'm fascinated by them.

Hi CW :) I agree with what Macro has said, its strange how we (not you!) can take things for granted when we see them everyday. I love photos from US and AUS because they are so different to what we have.

Recently a US member said he was coming to visit Britain for two weeks, he was going to visit England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and what lenses should he use etc.
It suddenly dawned on me that he wasn't aware of the fact that he could spend 2 weeks just in London and still not have enough time..It was then it dawned on me we really dont appreciate our own surroundings sometimes..keep posting, this is a lovely set..Emu for me though
