First time out with the lens I got yesterday evening...Nikon 200mm F4 macro. This is frost on the passenger side window of my truck captured at 1:1. I'm already starting to like this lens...should be an interesting spring.

Thank you Debbie. Oh I have a ways to go learning this thing. I think I mite try some flowers later this morning and maybe some birds this afternoon.

Interesting refraction of light via ice crystals.

What was the aperture? I realize the DOF is pretty shallow at 1:1, so I would guess there is a lot of curvature in this window. The band across the center is in focus, while the top and bottom are not.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes.....was at 5.3...the glass like you said LR has a curve to it....plus the sun was very low in the morning...and about 3 degrees from straight across...almost in the shadow of the door frame.

Almost need a micrometer to measure DoF.

So a definite challenge: Can't use flash...so only choice would be upping the ISO to get to f/22....
Thanks for sharing the info... if I get the frost, I'll give it a whirl.
