Triggering Manual Flash

Hi,

I have a Nikon D600 + S800 Flash that did belong to my son before I liberated it .

I am comfortable setting up remote control of the flash when its set to TTL or using manual flash control in the camera.

How do I operate the flash manually controlling flash aperture and output and trigger when the camera fires?

I want to use manual flash and have the flash fire over a narrow area.

Apologies if this is a stupid question but only just started using remote flash.

I just purchased the PocketWizard Mini TT1 transmitter and the PocketWizard Flex TT5 transceiver. They work great. It works both in TTL and manual. I would Google PocketWizard to get more info.

Since you are triggering in manual mode, the solution is easier. Your camera will trip the SB800 when the pop-up flash is set to "Commander" mode. Or, if for some reason the flash is blocked or out of range, try a Wein slave trigger, MUCH cheaper that radio devices and pocket wizards.
