Just a few photos taken after our arrival in the the Clearwater area. I posted only the still photos. My birds in flight were terrible. The sun was setting and I couldn't get enough light to use a fast shutter. Excuses, excuses. I know. It's great to be photographing some big, colorful birds.
Little egret
I have no idea what this is
blue heron? big/little?

Well I hope it warms up for you, it's been kind of chilly the last few days, not compared with what you have at home in Indiana but chilly for us, your second bird is an Anhinga female and the third is a tri-colored heron.

Welcome to Fl. Fergus, you got off to a good start 1. Snowy Egret, 2. Anhinga and 3. Tri-colored heron. Have fun and look foward to seeing more.
Thanks Birdguide. I may have to ask for help during my time in FL.
Thanks Gregory. A seasoned photographer told me to take my time and don't jerk the camera. It works! I think his name is Gregory.

Thanks for the encouragement.
Pic # 2 is a female Anhinga -- AKA the"Snake Bird". Swims underwater to catch (spear) fish. Has to dry i
her wings before she can fly again.
Pic #3 is a Little Blue Heron.
Nice photos.
