Series E lens

Has anyone used the old Series E Lens? They are built to last and are really cheap with good glass.

I used to use the 75-150mm F3.5 seriesE zoom, Great optics, especially considering the price. It was an outstanding portrait lens.

The serires E lens the housing was made without the regular steel but the glass was the same. I had the steel and my son had the same lens but in the series E. Results were the same. But I guess the steel would have lasted longer. Sold all old film gear.

I use the Nikon series E 100mm with excellent results. May be plastic but it is very durable and solid. Fluid focus. MUCH better than a new plastic Chinese lens any day. If you can get use to manual focus it is a superior choice, IMHO! :-D
