Had time to grab camera and fire off few shots before they left a bit out of focus I know but shots turned out cool I think

Interesting behavior! It looks like these are highly cropped photos and are, perhaps, a bit over sharpened. If a photo is out of focus, sharpening rarely improves it. You did a good job of capturing the action, let's hope next time you can be a lot closer!
