I have posted these in the photo gallery also.
Neither have been cropped...the owl decided to fly towards me and when I lost it from my lens, I looked and it landed on the snowbank next to me. I actually had to back up to get it in the lens. They sure are not bothered by people, but several have been killed by vehicles around here.
The stark white background allows layering-in a different background. Lots of potential here.

Once again, incredible sharp focus. You must have to wait for hours to get these fabulous shots. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
Here's something I did this morning using Topaz Remask and a background pic I took some time back.
Vegetation here is sparse so maybe one with trees would be more authentic.
new background

Excellent! New composite can be entitled "On Patrol" or "Silent Patrol" or similar.

Hey there snails_pace, I LOVE IT!! Thank you for taking the time to do this. As far as the trees go, I don't miss them in this photo because owls like open places such as fields, when looking for food. I think this background works.
I have some Topaz but not Remask. Do you like it..it did this background? I may have to invest in it.
Thanks again, Marsha
