It's interesting, yes, but please forgive me, I'm a little thick--permanent display? Is this an ice sculpture? And if so, how is it not a puddle of tepid water on the floor, if it's in the middle of an orchid room? Looks to be dripping... Or is it glass sweating?
It is a glass statue in the orchid room of the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh. I believe the room had just been misted so what you see is condensate on the glass. It is one of several on permanent exhibit.
The Phipps has several glass works on display that were evidently purchased from Chihluly and Frabel. Most of the Frabels are a little difficult to capture because of their positioning within the foliage. If my memory serves me correctly, these stick like figures were called Longmen.
Hope this answers your question.
