Hello friends
Just aquired a D7000. A couple of my lens needed fine tuning. Am wondering , will the camera automaticlly set to the saved value for each lens when attached?
Thank you in advance. Norm.

Yes it will. So long as you have the AF Fine Tune set to ON anyway.

Also, don't worry about the people trying to scare you out of doing it. You can't "mess up" You can always reset it, or turn off auto fine tune if you don't like the results. Just do as I, and many others did. Use a ruler with MM and make your own calibration tool. No need to spend $70 on a pyramid, or other divice that ends up being like a ruler at a 45 degree angle anyway. If yours are as far off as mine, you will be GLAD you did fine tune.

The D7000 has some backfocus issues.
Some are the camera & some are the lenses.
My 18-200mm required -18 where most of the other lenses i have only required -6.
With my D800 i use -2 as a default on all the lenses & its dead on.
Of course a $3000.00 camera should perform better than a $1200.00 camera.
I might consider a D7100 after the price drops after initial introduction.
As long it focuses within the +20 to -20 i will be happy.

Real easy to do, I keep my Nikon 300mm at t 5. All my other lens seem to be dead nuts. I used the tape measure method also.
