When I calibrate my laptop I get a profile overview of 72%.
Is this normal or should it be higher?
Sorry I have no answer. I was in looking for past post on calibration. Looking at the Spyder and Munki. So I'll be following this one.

I have the Spyder4Xpress and an Alienware laptop...mine was 67%.

It doesn't have anything to do with how good the software is...it's a measure of how well your monitor reproduces the color gamut..
Spyder or ColorMunki...either one is good.
I have Spyder 3 and I use the colorimiter (the hardware) with another software and I think it works much better. I use Color Eyes Display Pro. It has a free trial. I tried it, liked it and purchased it.

I use Spyder4 on my iMac and get 100% sRGB, and 79-80% adobe RGB.
I'm going to have my photos professionally printed in a photo book, and the company told me to send them as sRGB, or CMK. So in LR4, I'm checking the sRGB gamut for color correction.
On my epson 800, sRGB gets me accurate prints.
