What makes you think there was a lot of love going on here? Came across this oldie while scanning family negatives. It's my Dad with his "son" Senlac. They loved each other to bits. My Dad was never the same after the dog died.

I'm finding all sorts of photo treasures by emptying my big storage box and checking out hundreds of negatives. It's taking a lot of patience but I think it will be worth it.

Love it. Bull terriers are very affectionate, loving dogs. I've had them all my life.

This dog had the lovliest of temperaments. He loved kids and babies and other animals too. After he died, my brother thought he'd get another bull terrier for my Dad. However, he got a beautiful looking brindle bitch but she was a hellion of a puppy - too much for an old man to handle and she'd pull him over if he tried to take her for a walk. In the house she used to jump out from hiding and bite his ankles. We had to return her to the breeder. She clearly needed a younger owner with a firm hand. But, oh god, she was so pretty.
