Hi All, as promised here's my 2nd entry.
I am making a new post which again will not be mainstream.
This is a very difficult image to display on screen, it looses some of the impact of the 3ft exhibition print viewed in a subtly lit Gallery, where it proves hypnotic and sucks the viewer into it. ( I have seen people sway whilst viewing it) I once hung a straight shot of a windmill but tipped the whole print out of level by 30 degrees and it had the same effect. Such Fun watching everyone tipping their head to view it and some of them got the point.
I just wonder how many of you will be affected? and will you get the point?
I know many on here will hate it-but it might make you think, and perhaps try something different.
Again no details yet.
Try viewing it full screen and close
Hi
Could you tick the store image button before uploading then we can see full screen in high quality image
Thanks
Karl

It appears that there is a 1 hour limit to amendments so I have re-posted with 'updated' added

Chris, it is hypnotic for sure, started seeing many different patterns and colors, at one point at the beginning it looked almost 3 D as the center was pushing out. Like it.

Ah! It does work on other screens.
This is exactly the effect it had at the gallery, the colour changes are hidden in the image, very, very subtle, but they are amplified by the brain and can become almost Kaleidoscopic after a short period of time. The centre, as you rightly say, pushes out. Some say it makes them want to duck or step back, others say they feel like they are falling or being sucked into the bottom right corner, some say it has no effect on them.
Not many get the point. Unless they are watching from afar (Hint)
Wow...while viewing it, I lost control of my bodily functions and ----my pants! Sorry, couldn't resist. That is weird.

Yes it doesn't effect everyone, it is not an 'optical illusion', if you don't want to see anything in it, you won't. But that, my friend is the point!

That is very interesting Chris. Every time I go back to it, it does something different. Nice! Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you for looking. As I stated earlier not everybody sees anything in it. It only rewards the lingerer. Those who click on the post, glance at the image-don't like it, and so go to the next post, do not get the benefit. This is why I created the image. When It is hung in a gallery it is always the talking point at the end. You should see the faces of those who skipped over the print, they haven't got a clue about what everyone else is talking about, but soon they 'saw it as well'.
And those watching from afar.........
I really like. That curve just fades to black with quite nice. Reminds me of a human body almost. Believe me it is not weird, I spent an hour the other night photographing an egg carton (10 photos)

Yes. sometimes it takes on an almost organic feel, and it can actually move when you look at it ( like a snake ) that's when it can disturb people.
I think that you understand the point of this image!
You must post an 'egg carton shot' I have never thought of using one as a subject, now you have got me thinking and looking at one. I'm thinking Bill Brandt, sinuous curves, stark lighting, but that is because its a paper box, if it were opaque plastic perhaps a polarised image showing stress patterns. Hmmm intriguing.
Very "effective". Revisited the "motion sickness" days of my youth. Excellent!
Great effects in this almost three diemsional colour transitional image
Love it

How would you suggest we look at it full screen?
