Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Printer vs. HP Photosmart Premium Printer
I have a HP printer 13" x 19" Photosmart premium (564 ink) and was planning to buy a Canon D60. Canon/B & H has a promo that you get $400 back when you purchase the Canon Printer with the Camera. I was wondering how great a difference if any there was in the quality between these printers. thanks for any advice.
Canon EOS 60D Camera with 18-135mm Lens Kit with Pro 9000 Printer & Paper - price after rebate $1168.00
Only thing I can offer is that my HP Photosmart didn't last very long, but it wasn't probably as nice as the one you are thinking of getting.

Hi, I have been using the HP7960 Photosmart for some time and it is still going strong, it produces a good quality print, and the ink is reasonable for a home printer. I am planning to purchase the HP Photosmart Premier Printer. I got a canon printer deal in the pass, however, not the Canon PIXMA Pro9000, nevertheless, I was not too happy with the output. The HP works for me.
I have the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 and it has awesome output!
I have an HP Photosmart Pro B9180. PRints beautiful pictures. Has 8 pigment ink cartridges....rather costly, but hey, you get what you pay for, right?
BTW, I currently have this 9180 for sale...I am ill and am downsizing, but the printer is amazing and in mint condition. If you are interested, let me know.

Thanks, I will check it out, just learned that Canon and Epson are competitors, and the Espson 7900, and 4900 are awesome printers, especially for printing on matte paper.
I have a wireless HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One printer that prints photos flawlessly. It is four years old.
Check out the Canon Pixma Pro-1.
It just hit the market last week.
I've seen some of the pictures that it produced and they were absolutely amazing, it uses 12 LUCIA Pigment inks,
not 8 or 10 like the Pixma 9500 and the Pixma 9000.
The Pixma Pro-1 also weigths over 60 lbs which is more than twice the weight of the 9500 and the 9000.
I'm sure you'll be quite impresed if you take time to read some of the news articles about this new Canon Model.
You have only two good options in printers. 1.Epson and 2.Canon period. HP is a consumer only printer and for the most part, makes crap. I had 4 different hP'S AND NONE OF THEM LASTED MORE THAN 5-6 MONTHS. If you really care about quality prints then stay woth the above two chopices. JMHO.
Check out the Epson R3000. If you can afford the printers with pigment inks, you will love the quality and lasting ability of the prints they produce.
I also have a Canon Pixma 1X6520 that prints 13x19 that sell for about 125. and gives me fantastic prints. My other is an Epson R2000.
