Thank you to everyone for your gracious comments. In my Junior year of high school I had quite a visionary for a teacher. Her main goal that year was to teach us to see, feel and experience life and beauty. It was a creative writing course and the lessons have carried over to my photography now. I clearly remember a field trip one day to a automobile junk yard. When we returned we had to tell what we saw. Most of the class said junk cars. I was shy to answer because that wasn't what I saw at all. I saw shapes and colors, shadows and lights, sparkling chrome and lots of rust. These abandoned vehicles took on a new life in my mind making me want to preserve their beauty with words and now photographs. This teacher no only taught me but gave me a gift that transends many levels.
