The boat images are spectacular. Love the perspective.

Thanks AzPicLady, those were shot from a condo next to the canal on the 25th floor.

Aloha,

Got some time to experiment with Photoshop this summer. I hope to hear critique or suggestions from you all.

Thanks in advance. Mahalo!

Mahalo BigDaddy. Too often I find myself wanting to re-edit everything in Photoshop.

I like the second one of the first pic. I think I would like it even more if the sky in the 2nd one was half way between it and the first version.

As far as too much photoshop, or being more realistic... who cares, as long as the picture pleases you, it's good. I know what pleases me changes over time. Sometimes I look at a picture I worked on and liked at the time looks terrible a few days later, and I always miss stuff on the first (second, third etc) edits.

I liked all your pics, and if they were mine, I'd enjoy PP the heck out of them. Good pics are fun to work on.

Thanks hlmichel, that picture was a lucky blind shot from hoisting the tripod up and use a cable release. Holding a full frame camera standing in salt water was a little nerve racking.

I really like the first of the last three you posted. You had a good vantage point and you let the shadows be shadows.

Thanks for your advices. I think the tone down version will fit nicely with the rest of the series.

Aloha Jimmya, This picture does have a very nice story behind it. The man in the picture is sending out the floating lantern in memory of his father. The message on the front of the lantern is written by his daughter and grandson. The whole event is beautiful and emotional. As you saw in the series of photos I posted in Photo Gallery. If you ever have a chance to visit Honolulu during Memorial Day weekend. This is a must go event. Thanks again for your kind word.

I guess some might say a little too much PP but I don't think so. This photo says so much if you know the back story of why this event happens. I'd say very nice work
