I would urge you to follow up on the 2 requests for example photos and a more precise description of your disappointments in you lenses.
That said, I can only add that you can expect NO change in lens performance by merely putting a larger sensor behind them. As CG suggested, your disappointment is probably from a different source, which may be revealed by sample photos.
Yeah, I remember those preset lenses, too. At least there was no need for a DOF preview button! Nice lens, let us see what the f/4.0 will do!
It really IS an interesting lens, and very few were made. IF you could view through your camera while shooting (the mirror must be locked up) your ears would be in the photo! Obviously, it has very limited application, but it's worth every penny IF you have a need for it!
I think it's a keeper, too, Geff. It has a narrow DOF at your shooting distance, and you didn't mention the shooting aperture. But where it's sharp, it's very very sharp!
Whoa, Kombiguy. Whoa Jackinthebox. You've both taken the ball and have run to the end of the field, and I haven't even kicked it! My conversation thus far concerns the "free charging" of the Tesla S model cars, NOT the entire infrastructure and power grid of the United States! Don't alter my thoughts to expand the topic to your desired scope. Start a new thread, get a grip. I'm only running for dog-catcher, not President!

Yes, I tend to agree with you about grey market stuff. I just wasn't aware of it before I read the post, which made me wonder if Digital Outlets was a grey market dealer. Any idea if the online store is a grey market dealer? Thanks for the suggestions.
I would strongly advise using one of the many reputable venders used by many, many UHH'ers. B&H and Adorama even have sales reps who are members here, and have been extremely helpful with questions. They both sell "factory refurbished" Nikons and Canons WITH factory warranties, to save you money. KEH is an excellent seller of used equipment, very honest, and does NOT overrate their merchandise.
I would NOT purchase gray market, Joyce. You will find no support from the authorized American importer/warranty provider, if needed. Also eGlobal Central has some questionable reviews online. Some people are claiming they will rip you off. I guess it depends on how good of a "scrapper" you are, and what you're willing to go through to save the $$$.
Depth of field is rather narrow, but in the zone of focus I would rate it 4.5.
Great, Mr. Wonky! That photo is definitely worthy of a prize, and that certainly is a wonderful prize! Congratulations! Do it again!

Not a dream anymore. Enough Oil, gas and coal to last a hundred years.
Of course fossil fuels will run out some time in the very distant future. Other methods will take over when the costs start to be equal.
To insure a level playing field I am all for Free Gasoline if Electricity is provided "free".
Free is a liberal illusion.
Do we really have to address the "Free is a liberal illusion" issue? In our example, Tesla is clearly footing the bill. Whether they consider it advertising, an investment in their future growth, or intend to conceal the cost in the price of their product is irrelevant.
I am not a tree-hugger, Jackinthebox, but if we take fossil fueled power plants out of the equation, electric cars are a less messy means of transport. If we consider Tesla in concert with SolarCity, their goal appears to do just that: take fossil fuel out of the picture. I admire their effort, even though at present it's not without flaws (the internal combustion engine is not "without flaws" either).
I am a somewhat far right conservative, but I'm not going to overlook a good idea just because it may have liberal origins, or be currently promoted by a majority of liberals. Liberals are people, too. And they are not incapable of having good ideas, contrary to conservative dogma.

4 ThumsUp = 4 **** stars.
Small addition. Eye witnesses and GJ disclosure of forensics show that the perp was approaching the police officer. Thus the officer not only acted in line with his duty to arrest the guy, and his life was in danger.
Absolutely, Jack. Given the physical size disparity and previous aggressive behavior, I believe Officer Wilson when he says he perceived Brown as a deadly threat. The trauma of a gunshot
inside of his vehicle (loud,LOUD,
LOUD) and a couple jarring blows to the head would have given Wilson lots to be worried about. Mr. Brown had more than one opportunity to save his own life...and chose not to.
My question has to be, when are these wonderful black citizens (according to their moms) going to just quit resisting? That's all it would take. OR are white cops going to start backing off from apprehending black suspects? Just let them wonder off into society and avoid the hassles of a grand jury, civil litigation, a torn-up life? Perhaps soon we'll have only black police agencies.
Funny post, cntry! Actually, I bought the best part of a Sony...my Nikon has a Sony sensor!
You're welcome, mikey d! I'm glad you joined us on "the Hog", and hope you won't hesitate to ask about anything that has you wondering!
I like the crop Nikonian gave it, with a caveat: if this were a magazine submission, I would leave it as in your original, to allow the editor his/her discretion on cropping to fit the page. Excellent photo, Osprey!
Oh, come on, Steve! It's always been a lively topic of conversation, and, unlike nuclear fission, most people are familiar enough to join in the discussion. It not much different than the Ford/Chevy or Remington/Winchester debates. Just too much fun to give it up!
