When I bought my DSLR (Digital Single Lense Reflect) camera I also bought a DVD that explained the workings of the camera and how to take some pictures.
It showed me the intricacies of the camera and how to set things. These are presented by Professional Photographers and are well done. I have watched it several times over to learn better how to use my camera.
1. For photography you need a good camera (know how to use it)
2. Have an eye for beauty
3. Be willing to experiment with your equipment and scenery.

Have fun.

a surprising shot

the comments of the group are right that it is not ethical to claim authorship of a work that you took from another persons work. That is not to say you cannot enjoy it and keep it for personal review.

The same goes for work found on the web, it is shared to enjoy and enjoy it I do, I will never claim it as my work and anybody that would is a snake in the grass as far as I am concerned and that person should not be considered a photographer but a thief.

As mentioned, she is very right, I like raw for the reasons she gave and the greater amount of data that is available. I also like the jpg for its ease of use and general compatibility with all editors.

I love life and now that I am retired I am enjoying capturing those views that I see. I am doing digital because they are easier to handle and store. I live in Chicagoland and enjoy the diversity of the seasons after having lived in California for most of my working life.

I like the intricacy of Lichen and how it interacts with its surroundings.
