I have shot a lot at 800 and 1000 ISO with my 7d and don't see any real bad noise unless you crop in REAl far.

I am wondering if anyone has ever taken online classes for photography. And if you have who was it with, did you like it, and what was the topic? I'm pretty knowledgeable about photography but I'm always wanting to learn something new.

I use a memory card reader and import them using Lightroom. Lightroom is a great program for the photographer. You can import, sort, make corrections, and a lot more. Adobe has dropped the price of Lightroom 4 to $150 and the student/teacher edition is $80. I shoot about 95% in RAW and wouldn't use anything but Lightroom.

I'm going to do the same thing. I own a 7d and plan on getting the 5d Mark 3 later this summer. I will keep the 7d for a second camera.

I looked at Newegg.com and if you are or know a student or teacher you can get LR3 for $88 with free shipping.

I'm looking at either a Canon 100mm f2.8L 1:1 macro or the 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L. I guess my question is which one do you own and how much use do you get out of it? Right now Canon has rebates going on so I thought it might be a good time to look at them.

I own the 7D and love it. My brother owns the 7D and the 5D mk2 and says the 5d pics are better with the same lens and of the same subject. I think it is all in what your budget is and what you want to do with the camera. I'm waiting for the replacement of the 5D mk2 (rumors say that Canon is going to make an announcement in March or April). That is why you are seeing the price of the 5D start to drop.

I own the 7D and love it. My brother owns both and says the 5D produces a better picture. What I'm doing is waiting for spring to see what Canon is going to do to replace the 5D M2. So if you can hold out for a few months it might be worth the wait. Keep and eye on Canon rumors.

I also own a 7d and love it. Depending on how many rows you have use about and f8, use center spot focus, and focus on the center row. This always works good for my wedding photos.

One of my students had a T1i and it is a nice camera. What I would do is crank up the ISO (800 or even 1600). This camera does a decent job at limiting noise but you will still might get some. Shoot in manual or shutter priority and shoot at at least 1/250. With your lens the more you zoom in the smaller the f/stop. I would recommend shooting at 18mm as much as possible and get as close as possible. Try not using the flash at first, but if you need it use is but you will get dark background.

I have been using the lightsphere for a while and have shot numerous weddings and the pictures turn out great. Of course nothing beats off camera flash, but when you are trying to get pictures from all sorts of angles during a wedding it works great. I also have a puffer for my pop up flash that I take with me when I'm just out shooting and don't want to lug my shoe mount flash.

Somewhat on the same topic is "soft focus". I am not a pro but I strive for tack sharp photos, if it is not sharp and can not be fixed I usually trash it. To me soft focus just looks like a picture that is out of focus.

I shoot in RAW 90% of the time. I use jpg when I'm out taking pictures that I'm not worried about putting through Lightroom or Photoshop. Remember a jpg is processed and compressed in your camera. A RAW file has nothing done with it and allows for more post processing, the best in my opinion is white balance. Case in point, I have shot wedding twice in an old house done over for weddings. The wall colors drove my white balance wild and every room was different. Shooting in RAW I don't have to worry about it and take care of it in post processing.

Two things I use are Gary Fong's Lightsphere and Flashbender. Both of these are unique in their own way and you have to practice to get a feel on how to use them.

Also, make sure you use flash compensation. I teach photography and most of my students don't realize that they can change the output power of their flash.
