JIMP installs and works on my Win 11. Try to run the installer as Administrator.

I am using Nikon Coolscan V in combination with Vuescan Pro SW, and I am satisfied with the performance. I believe some Nikon scanners still can be found online - Craigslist etc. BTW, Nikon original SW still works flawlessly on Windows 10. Even today these Nikon scanners have better parameters than most film-dedicated scanners on the market.

Regardless of the cost, I will always prefer a dedicated film/slide scanner and the reason is very simple: the IR dust and scratch cleaning capabilities.

dandev is correct. I had the same problem and solve it this way. Just went to purchase, put the code pre-release code in the coupon window and the amount due became zero. That was all. They should have call it discount coupon.

Should be some interesting effects if they actually are photographers. Are you sure it's not some very junior editor that was told to write an article on photography?
Whoever wrote that has no idea ....

In the Photography Life article there is a section discussing who these masters of quill are :)

Very interesting article from Photography Life: https://photographylife.com/how-expertphotography-com-steals-content.
In addition to copycat practices, which are by itself despicable, some content (I guess not copied) is a total BS, like this gem: "Basically, the lower the ISO number, the less light is hitting your sensor" from the exposure triangle article https://expertphotography.com/exposure-triangle/.

I tried V860II on Nikon and returned it back to the store. The main reason was that it produced a rainbow at the edges of the illuminated field well visible on a white background. There were also other things that I didn't like but were not decisive for giving up on it, like the attachment to the camera hot shoe and the limited number of steps in setting the zoom (Nikon flashes are practically step-less). I agree though, that the Li-Ion battery and the price are unbeatable.

My 500GB Samsung SSD is 56% full. That isn't bad, but I see the end approaching. All I have on it are Win10 and programs. Add data is on the D drive. A 1TB Samsung SSD costs less ($140) than the 500GB drive I bought three years ago. If I get the 1TB drive, I can re-purpose the 500GB SSD for data storage. On the other hand, if I wait till the current drive is 75% full, a 1TB SSD will be cheaper and probably faster.

I think I just talked myself into waiting.

Clean the drive up. For OS and applications you don't need more than 500GB.

I have the three software PS, LR CC and C1. I believe C1 is in between LR and PS. With C1 you can do anything and the tools for selections are very powerfull and easier to use than PS. The use of layers and masks in C1 is by far more easy than PS. Of course PS has a lot more features than C1, but do you usualy use them?. My normal editing software is C1 and I need to do something very special I use PS. But of course if you are happy with LR go ahead with it, it is a very good editing software.

Beautiful, serene view, but to my test the clarity was overdone.
