I have both.
The TT685 is great, but you might also consider TT350.
It's a more compact speedlight, though a bit lower powered

The Godox at Adorama is the same as the FlashPoint at B&H (google them) so check on the prices at both places. I was considering one of them for my OLY M1 MkII but decided on the OLY due to special features that the OLY FL-700WR has. That said that in looking into the Godox they take firmware updates but would probably not effect your use on the FX-1000 (which I have owned for about 6 years).

Godox flash gear is very high quality in my opinion. I have several and believe them to be of equal or better quality than specific brand flash, of course I've not tried all flashes out there.

I have had the FMZ1000 for two years and simply love the camera. I think you will enjoy the heck out of it as well. My Christmas list for 2017 was the 'Panasonic DMW-FL360L' flash unit, which is specifically designed for that camera, or line of cameras. This flash has responded flawlessly and the TTL is perfect, from what I observe anyway. It is very solidly built, feels solid in the hand, and is 'hefty' with batteries installed. It is a substantial piece of equipment. It does not look or act like something that is cheaply made.

It appears the 'Panasonic' flash unit costs more than the 'GODOX' flash unit, from what was already written to your post. I can't tell if it is worth the difference to obtain the 'Panasonic' if the 'GODOX' does everything just as well. I do notice that the 'Panasonic' flash unit uses less battery energy than my 'Vivitar 283' flash unit on my 'Canon F-1' or my 'Sunpak 5000' flash unit on my 'Nikon F100'. Both of those older flash units had thyrister circuitry as well as the 'Panasonic', so that is not the reason for the newer flash allowing the batteries to last longer. Newer technology and newer materials are probably part of the answer to that issue, just as LEDs use less energy than incandescent bulbs.

You requested suggestions or recommendations regarding alternative flash units, and I would give very high marks to the 'DMW-FL360L'. I see there is a newer 'Panasonic' flash unit, possibly a higher power model with a '5' instead of the '3'.

In case you are interested, the 'DMW-FL360L' cost $216 at 'B & H' during December 2017. Their summer 2019 catalogue (page 121) has it priced at $227. The newer 'DMW-FL580L' model costs $499.

I tried V860II on Nikon and returned it back to the store. The main reason was that it produced a rainbow at the edges of the illuminated field well visible on a white background. There were also other things that I didn't like but were not decisive for giving up on it, like the attachment to the camera hot shoe and the limited number of steps in setting the zoom (Nikon flashes are practically step-less). I agree though, that the Li-Ion battery and the price are unbeatable.

Make sure whichever brand you buy will "Sync" properly with your FZ1000.
Does Panasonic make a Speedlight Flash for that Model of Camera, that might be your best choice if available.
