This site only lets you upload low resolution images. So you get a bunch of useless opinions. I like his image. I would love to see the original image to make an objective assessment.
What camera? Does it have mirror lockup?
Sorry, you're gonna need post processing. Is it that much of a bother to spend a few minutes "fixing" your photos?
First, stop shooting "Auto" anything. Then bracket your exposures. To get the sun "red" as your eye saw it, you would need a low ISO, small aperture and fast shutter speed, but this will render everything else dark.
Unless we have access to the original image, its difficult to determine if there is an issue with the leaves or not.
If you want to try a larger f stop, get a neutral density filter (such as B+W). A 3 or 6 stop should suffice.
Also, try using a two second self timer and mirror lockup to avoid camera shake if you sre manually pressing the shutter button with you finger.
Did you try other exposures?
The moon is lit by the sun, so you don't need a 30 sec exposure.
When in doubt, experiment. Did you google your subject? I'm pretty sure others have shot the moon before and blogged about it.
If you care about your photography, shoot RAW, then off load the images to your PC/ Mac or external HD if your SD card fills up.
Lightroom is a fairly inexpensive image editor that will help you immensely.
If you want to shoot landsapes, get a quality tripod/head.
Shoot when the light is good (not in the middle of the day with a cloudless sky).
Very nice lighting. The blues look a bit saturated. Must have been nice just to be there, but you were slso able to capture some nice images.
