Based on this photograph taken at a southern USA Customs & Border Patrol checkpoint, looks like Mexican citizens did the early prototype work.

Second: I recently saw a product which I looked up on Google it was a device (then in kick starter), called: 'Arsenal'.

I've already advanced way beyond this technology by simply searching google images and downloading 'realistic' pictures that I like. That way, I save the money I would have spent on a camera and the time it would have taken to learn how to use it. Plus, I can stay home eating Cheetos and watching Wheel of Fortune rather than have to move around or, worse yet, go outside to take photographs.

One lesson learned is to pay more attention to the focus point display via post shot image review.

Street and sports photographers, especially those who shoot football and soccer, use a technique called 'zone focusing' to have their short focal length lens/body ready to shoot if, for example, a player starts coming directly toward them. The idea is to set the camera to fixed focus at a specific distance / depth of field. That way, they can grab that body and shoot with acceptable sharpness quickly without the camera seeking focus for each individual frame. If you don't preset a focus point, the camera will hunt for focus for each frame. Here's a link that speaks to this, including photographing your kids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHvR14w4q6k

I correct way to many cell phone ( and camera ) pics for friends that don't study picture taking vs light. Even my own when it can't be helped. Love me some LR6 for that.

Same here...get requests all the time to correct/improve photographs for 'photographer' friends who, apparently, haven't made an effort understand the fundamentals of light and expect their cameras to somehow magically/automatically know how to properly capture images in any lighting situation.

If you want others making creative decisions for you, then this would probably work for you. I prefer to roll my own, for better or worse.

Agreed...do you suspect that some will embrace the benefits of this more advanced in-camera post-processing and tell us they "got it right in camera"? As your comment suggests, the post-processing of a RAW image is required on every photograph, every time - either in the camera based on the manufacturer's idea of how to do it or externally the way your memory of the scene and your personal taste instruct you. i.e. your eyes and brain are in control.

As I said - I don't do social media.

What does it mean when you post a comment on a public discussion board stating that you don't do social media? A public forum/discussion board is, by definition, Social Media.

Is there some sort of cognitive dissonance going on with you? Do you secretly shoot raw/RAW, too?

Although I don't "do" social media, I am well aware that you can find anything to say anything somewhere in youtube. The voice of reason on RAW (raw) v JPG is to recognise the pros and cons of each and then do what grabs you. So often we have "do RAW (raw)" rammed down our throats that it has got very boring,
and it is usually pretty obvious that the RAW (raw) pundits do not fully understand just how much it is possible to do when editing JPGs.

Hello. I have been a regular follower of UHH for some time now but have never been moved to register or post a comment until now. I find it very intriguing that someone constructively posts the link to a video supporting the same opinions you express and actually offers a practical rationalization of those opinions, you choose not to view it, but do not refrain from continually posting your personal bias. In my opinion, the video clearly does express a voice of reason. Is the principle issue that you do not want to learn anything new or, worse yet, have your opinions challenged?

In the approximate words of a former President, it is important to remember that no matter what you believe or how strongly you believe it, you might be wrong.
