I purchased the Tamron 16-300 a little over two years ago, love the lens (I do use mine on a Canon though), its my main use lens, I have not had any issues or problems with it and it has always worked great for me, worked good enough that I purchased two additional Tamron lenses. Noticed they are lighter than the Sigma.

I don't have the Pluto but I do have the Pulse by Alpine Labs and it sounds like they do the same thing, mine has a free app that you download so you use your phone or tablet to control via bluetooth, I really like mine, I have done a lot of time lapse including the solar eclipse last Aug and it worked great, I see the Pulse is available for $75 or so on ebay. My pulse offers Long exposure, time lapse, photos, video, HDR, and photo booth, as its options, my only complaint is how far I can get from my camera, it doesn't stop anything you have set up but I can't preview the photos taken. Hope this helps

Great hints and advice here, I'm using a 150-600mm Tamron lense with a 18 stop eclipse filter, so the advice of doing some shooting before hand is going to be put to use, thanks all!

Guess I'm not aware of what that would have to do with anything photography related, happy to keep the BS politics away from the site I go to for PHOTOGRAPHY

Saw your info on insurance, can you tell me where your getting yours? My company is soaking me more than double that and I would switch in a heartbeat. Been with same company for a long time and never turn in claims but the drone stuff scares them.

I received a drone a while back, the DJI Phantom 3 Advance, I have found the camera to be of great quality for the price range and the drone features are great with GPS, return home, etc. As far as flying them I would recommended getting some extra batteries, (that is a pain because they are expensive), I also found that putting prop guards on them is a good idea, (had mine get pushed by a wind gust and caught up in a tree), if your just flying for your own benefit you only have to register with FAA as a hobby flyer, (costs $5.00), but if you’re going to do any commercial flying (anything and they mean ANYTHING that you get something for operating it), then you should take the FAA test. The test is hard but there are a lot of study guides, I downloaded one from the I-Store for around $25 and it paid for itself.

I agree, I'm planning to use the least valuable camera body I have WITH the filter I just hope it works out if not then it will be a lesson but not as expensive if I had used my best one! If anybody has any insight regarding cameras getting damaged even with a filter please let me know!

Thank-You so very much for the quick replies, I purchased a Formatt-HiTech 95mm filter that retails for $199 but after rebates and discounts I paid $179.10 for the filter through B&H, (they also threw in a set of viewing glasses), didn't really want to spend that much but the date was closing fast

I'm going to try my hand at a time lapse of the upcoming solar eclipse on Aug 21, I'm using a Canon camera with a Tamron 150-600 lenses with an 18 stop eclipse filter, any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
