I've found that the best way is through use of a trigger system such as the Cognysis RangeIR, along with a few Flashes connected to it. Even so, it's a game of chance as the Bats do NOT follow a predictable flight path ! If you can do it without disturbing them, set up near their roost well before Dusk to maximize your chance of capturing one as they leave to hunt. I have thus far failed miserably in obtaining an entire Bat. I've had considerably more success with Flying Squirrels.
I hope this helps somewhat.
So adorable; I'm jealous!
Lovely images ! Wish I had the variety you enjoy where I live.
Oh, I'm SO jealous !!!! Beautiful job !
Fairly certain it’s a Coopers Hawk
I use a RangeIR from Cognisys, very reasonably priced, with 4 flashes connected through use of Phottix radio transmitter,(connected to RangeIR) and a Phottix receiver on each flash. (also very reasonable). For info on the HOW TO, I suggest looking up Joe MacDonalds web site. http://hoothollow.com/index.html Here is an example of one of my captures:
Absolutely stunning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First image is the hands down WINNER !!!! Lovely.
Absolutely stunning Flower images ! So happy you shared them.
I'm always amazed at the size & weight of prey/branches that these Birds manage to carry off ! Nice job !
I own 2 Canon 7DII's, and can say without a doubt, if you're after Birds and Wildlife, THIS is a great camera to have in your arsenal. I've been very pleased with the burst speed and many other features that this camera offers. There's a bit of a learning curve, and I can't stress enough the importance of : READ THE MANUAL ! Once you know what you have at your disposal, your potential is awesome. Happy shooting !
Really great shot ! I keep trying...
What a FABULOUS image !!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful sky shot; good composition.
