I'm located in northern Indiana/Lake Michigan area. This is a fern I transplanted from the wild into the shaded areas of my yard. It's done very well, I'm wondering just what sort of fern it is.
Leaves show nothing on their undersides - they have a fruiting structure on much shorter stems, as shown.

And for some reason, she loves her Uncle Bill......

My grand-niece Alyssa. Only had a limited time with her, just had my Sony Handycam with me.
We were in a KFC and I noticed the lighting was not bad at all, so took some straight-ahead snapshots - no time for set shots or worrying about backgrounds or anything, so please keep that in mind. No PP at all other than a crop.
My wife's family seems to produce a great beauty every generation, and this delightful little girl qualifies.
As I recall she was explaining the finer points of shopping - at which she's already an expert...........

One Millennial to another -

"Wow, what's that thing??"
Other Millennial - "The description says it's an enlarger."
First Millennial - "What does it enlarge?"
Other Millennial - "I don't know, let's see (unzipping)".

Well, now you can, in only 10....uh, 22 minutes!!

It is learn-able, though difficult (for most of us anyway).
I never once used calculus after the classes were done - and I've worked as a chemist/scientist for 50 years.

I got a kick out of this, which turned up in my YouTube feed.

Frankly, it took me a lot longer than this to learn calculus.......

Cubs fan at Wriggler Field - no comment required........

As a White Sox fan since the early 50's (I know, don't start on me, it's bad enough already), I don't have a lot of sympathy for the Cubs - but I don't hate them, and wish they'd done better.
The Cubs were the lowest of the low for a VERY long time, and deserve a little sunshine.
But it's a looooong season now, I think they just wore out.

You're right, Chicago went over the edge with the Cubs, orders of magnitude more than it did when the Sox won it in 2005.
It's not so much the Cubs as Cubs fans that disappoint me - they're pretty poor sports, and they hate the White Sox beyond reason.

I think that semi-scraggly tree is a distraction actually.......but otherwise a nice shot.

I rarely get angry with God, but I do when it comes to dogs.
To give us the wonderful gift of dogs, and yet to endow them with such short lives - that's bordering on cruelty.
I mean, we have freakin' turtles that live to 150 years. Not to slight herpetologists, but who cares ??!!!

It just ain't right, I'm telling you. I plan to take it up with Him if I ever get to meet Him...........
