You might do well to just get something like that amazing Sony RX10iv and enjoy life. You're not going into photo business, just out to see the world. That camera and lens will cover everything without breaking the bank, your back, or your mind trying to figure it out. If you must have a DSLR, a D7200 and Tamron 18-24, or Canon 80D with the same lens will accommodate you nicely. Enjoy your travels, and be sure and post us some of your photography!

Or for a bit less, the RX10III

Why carry a bunch of lenses around if you want to be light. I recently purchased a Sony RX10III, which nowadays can be purchased in the $1000 range. It is a wonderful camera with a zoom range (effective) of 24mm to 600mm. The image quality is fabulous. It has more bells and whistles than I will ever use, but they are there if you need them. It is a heavier camera than some, but I have taken it on several long term trips, and it does not seem to be burdensome. I should mention that the increase of weight is due to the fact that the camera has solid metal construction. Before purchasing this camera, i checked the internet for image comparisons of the Sony with other brands, and the Sony won hands down.

I don't seem to have succeeded in sending my picture properly. Again--the photos sent thus far are most enjoyable. Here is one of my favorites shot in Yellowstone Park.

I have enjoyed the submissions. One of my favorites was shot at the Mammoth Geyser area in Yellowstone. I made it black and white to enhance the mood.

I am not sure the first attempt at sending this photo succeeded. If i repeat myself I apologize. I was trying to say that I am interested in the manner in which objects, seemingly unrelated, can take on a momentary relationship because of some equivalent quality they mutually possess.

I like the way seemingly unrelated objects can suddenly take on a kind of relationship via some equivalent quality that brings them together, if only for a short time.

I have an RX10III and love it. 24-600 lens is more than adequate for most photographic needs. It has better resolution than the comparably priced Lumix.

While on a safari in the heart of a secret island which i cannot disclose in terms of its location, I had a close call photographing these wild things.

If you do go to the angel tree, besides taking photos, put your ear to the trunk and be amazed.
