I am not able to carry my heavy camera equipment any longer and am looking for something lighter to replace it. I would like a mirror-less full frame, (crop if I must) 20-24 megapixel sensor, any brand. I would like to keep the price at $1000 or less. My Sony a6000 died and I might have to replace it. I have been reading reviews and can't decide and I would appreciate suggestions.

Canon T7I is the perfect camera for you. Team it with a Canon 10-18 and Sigma 18-250 and be set for life! I got the best deal anywhere from Greentoe.com!

If my ears serve me right I believe the OP was talking about a smaller and lighter camera.

On another thread, somebody just posted photos (pg. 6 in the thread "Going to Italy") comparing the sizes of a Nikon D7100 w/lens and a Fuji with a comparable lens. The Fuji was much smaller and lighter.

When you're starting from scratch the options are many. Listen to all the opinions, do lots of online research and then, most importantly, get yourself to a large camera retailer and handle your top contenders. It's the only way you'll know how they'll feel and whether the controls you most want to use will be located where they are easily usable. Sink the most cash into a lens or two which have gotten good reviews for image quality, but the way a camera feels in the hand will have a major influence on how often you'll want to use it. My personal choice is with Fuji because they generally feature good exterior (i.e. non-menu) controls for aperture, shutter speed and ISO as well as having the right combination of size and weight for my personal taste along with top quality lenses at reasonable prices. There certainly are others to consider as well, so be sure to either try them at a retail outlet or buy from an online retailer that has a good return policy.

Since you already have the lenses, how about another a 6000 or an a6300?

Your budget eliminates full frame mirrorless immediately except for used, the Sony A7 with 28-70mm kit lens is going for about that used. Keep in mind even though the bodies are smaller and lighter, full frame lenses for mirrorless are no lighter and you will have fewer choices.
Crop sensor mirrorless can be had new in your budget from Sony and Fuji, like your a6000. But you will still need lenses for them if you switch brands.

I switched to the Sony A6300 for the same reason and have never regretting my choice. Great little camera that has LOTS of the features of a dslr. Good luck with your search!!

I know you have said that you want a full frame camera, but your cash limit of $1K is probably going to prevent that possibility unless you can find something used. You might want to find a used E-1M mrII (20mp) and a used 24-40 f2.8. That still would probably be over your $1K limit, but much more feasible that the full frame cost. Good luck in your hunt for a replacement.

You make this same irrelevant suggestion regardless of what the specs are.

Not smaller

Not full frame

Look at Fuji,Sony and Olympus(micro 4/3). If you have Sony lenses stick with Sony. You can buy used from a reputable store.

I'd like to hear about your experience with the A6000, since I also have one. How old? How many shutter clicks? What's the problem?

Here are good comparison links. One of them shows camera sizes.
