I managed to get a lot of flowers as they were all in the same area so I didn't have to walk far. I hope you enjoy this little bit of garden beauty.

My Friend wanted to photograph my owls. My Owls as I call them are a pair of Barred Owls that live in the Central Ridge Community Park, formally known as Lake Beverly. The Owls has been there for years and has become accustomed to humans walking the trail everyday. The Barred Owls will show up along the path and allow many shots. I have been as close as 10 feet, if I do not move fast they stay and observe me as I observe them. The Owls are always there, many of the walkers never see them as they walk right under them. For a Photographer they provide an opportunity after opportunity for various shots, as they fly to each other and move from branch to branch. You can always hear them hooting to each other making it easy to locate. I have hundreds of shot of them and I am beginning to think they know me as they follow me around at times. I was taking photo in the middle of the park and I decided to move down the path to a more secluded place and when I got here I looked up and there was the owl.
My Friend wanted to photograph my owls. My Owls as... (show quote)

I found this guy on top of a piece of furniture I was moving in my garage this morning. I've never seen one like it before. After looking on line, I think it's a Green Lynx spider.

Great shot! So funny that you posted this today. I took a picture of a spider today too. I have no idea what kind it was except that it was BIG brown and ugly!! I haven't downloaded it off my camera yet.

This tree/shrub is about 6' high & is right outside my back door. The flowers are tiny (about 1/2" across) & the berries are about 1/4" in diameter. It is not seasonal & seems to have flowers or berries (or both) on it at any time of the year. Bees love the flowers. Downloading is recommended.

Great shots Earl!

Donna, you asked a short while ago about how I shoot the stacks in the field. I just finished the blog with illustrations and photos describing the equipment and techniques I use. I hope this is useful for the members here. It might be posted in the Macro forum if I can get ahold of Douglass and he is willing to edit it to fit the formatting on this site. Enjoy
